Nikita Fisher Plays With Color in Prism Collection

For her latest collection, titled Prism, Nikita Fisher focused on light, transparency, movement and a spectrum of color to create looks that mirror elements found in nature and the physical world. “I wanted to encapsulate those magical moments that happen at sunrise, sunset, after the rain has fallen, in the depths of space and only during certain time lapses, and recreate them in hair,” says the senior artistic director at Jamie Stevens Hair in Clapham, UK.

To create a purposeful burst of color in the hair, Nikita Fisher made strands a creamy blonde hue. She then used Schwarzkopf Professional UK Igora ColorWorx Yellow to add a bold channel of color in the design.

Fisher achieved this vivid red using irregular color placement. She prelightened the model’s hair for maximum lift and vibrancy, using a mix of Igora Royal Absolutes and ColorWorx Concentrates for intense overall shine and a vivid burnt orange shade.

To play up the model’s strong haircut, Fisher used panels of bright blue, pink and purple on a deep violet base to produce an anchored effect, with the roots remaining in a shadow. “The overall rose mink hue soothes the intensity of the blues and violets, especially against the model’s golden skin tone,” says Fisher.
