This year’s Golden Globes provided a new level of inspiration for glamorous hairstyles that your clients will surely be asking you to recreate. Matrix/Biolage stylists were on scene to create the looks for several A-list celebs, including Penelope Cruz and Chrissy Metz. Here, their respective stylists share how they created their ‘dos.
Penelope Cruz
Nominated for her role in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Cruz arrived on the red carpet with hair in a voluminous bun to complement the halter neck on her dress. Matrix celebrity stylist George Papanikolas (@georgepapanikolas) created her sun-kissed haircolor using Matrix Color Sync 5 Minute Fast Toners for anti-brassiness, and Matrix Color Sync 6NT for the shadow root.
Chrissy Metz
A presenter at Sunday evening’s show, the This Is Us actress wanted a dramatic hair look to go with her custom red gown. “The inspiration came from the big hair that was shown on the SS19 runways, but polished for a red carpet moment,” said celebrity stylist Marc Mena (@marcmena). To get the look, Mena focused on over-teasing the crown and spraying back from temple to temple to create a ’70s vibe.
