The magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck shortly after 8 a.m. local time north of Osaka. Dozens of domestic flights were grounded, while train and subway service in the Osaka area including the bullet train were suspended.          

BEIRUT (Reuters) – Syrian state media said on Monday that U.S.-led coalition aircraft bombed an army position in the east, causing deaths and injuries, but the U.S. military denied it was responsible.
